Fragments

‘Fragments’ is a painting characterised by a harmonious blend of beige, white, and blue. These colours are presented in various shades, creating a depth that accentuates the blurred shapes and images throughout the canvas.

The name ‘Fragments’ reflects the collection of bits and pieces that embody the spectrum of feelings and emotions experienced during the painting process. In parts where the fragments are larger, one might find more complete representations of life events and feelings, while other areas convey a sense of incompleteness. This interplay between completeness and incompleteness invites the viewer to contemplate the complexities of experience.

In the top left corner, an unfinished heart contains a smaller heart within it. The larger heart, nearly complete but missing a final line, serves as a metaphor for evolving love. It emphasises that love does not adhere to the confines of a fixed end goal; rather, it is a continuous process, akin to the rhythm of a beating heart.

This artwork embodies the idea that love and passion are limitless, transcending boundaries much like creativity and imagination. Echoing the sentiments of Henri Matisse and Albert Einstein, who stated that “Creativity takes courage” and that “Creativity is contagious, pass it on,” ‘Fragments’ aims to inspire imagination and artistic exploration.

This painting results from a collaborative vision; its title reflects the artistic insight of my partner, who has become a pivotal source of passion and creativity for Beastie By Ekaterina.
